Best Damned Video...

...I've seen on the subject of anthropogenic global warming yet:

Related: The age of climate alarmism is coming to an end
"You can be forgiven for not noticing that the United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change released a summary of its Fifth Assessment Report late last month.

The report landed with a thud, criticized and even mocked by many leading climate scientists. The distinguished science journal Nature editorialized that this should be the last report issued by the UN body.

This is just the latest signal that the age of climate alarmism is over. Given five tries to convince the world that human activity is causing catastrophic warming of the planet, runaway sea-level rise and various weather disasters, the public still doesn’t buy it.

We’re all skeptics now because the science simply does not back up the hypothesis. For starters, there’s been no rise in global temperatures for 15 years.

The IPCC’s Fifth Assessment Report concedes for the first time that global temperatures have not risen since 1998, despite a 7 percent rise in carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.

To put that into perspective, global human CO2 emissions in the last 15 years represent about one-third of all human CO2 emissions since the start of the Industrial Revolution, and yet temperatures didn’t budge.

Nearly all of the UN-approved climate computer models were wrong. The IPCC finally admitted as much.

The IPCC also admits that the “hockey stick” it used to feature in past reports wasn’t accurate. Penn State professor Michael Mann has been dining out for years on his infamous "hockey stick,” a dread graph featured by Al Gore in his Oscar-winning documentary “An Inconvenient Truth.”

The graph looked so dramatic — like a hockey stick — only because it ignored the Medieval Warm Period, a time about a thousand years ago when temperatures were warmer than today — when wine grapes grew in England and Greenland was green.

The “hockey stick” is missing from the Fifth Assessment Report, and the IPCC admits the Medieval Warm Period was warmer and more global than it claimed in the past.

A third major admission by the IPCC: No increases in droughts, hurricanes, typhoons and other extreme weather. Every time severe weather hits the United States, you could count on IPCC-related scientists, professional climate alarmists and the media to attribute it all to man-made global warming. No more."

Speaking of Crows …………………………………..
Phone calls poured into different authorities about hundreds of dead crows along a busy stretch of highway near Boston Massachusetts. The Massachusetts Health Commission called for an investigation and the wheels of bureaucracy began to turn.
With a mind to the recent bird flu scare, the crow carcasses were carefully gathered up and documented by technicians in Hazmat suits. After a couple of days a public announcement was made. Autopsies showed that the dead crows, 318 in total, all died from vehicular collisions. Strangely however, they were able to ascertain by the paint on the beaks of the crows that all but two of these crows were struck by trucks, only two were hit by cars.
An Ornithologist (bird expert) was called in. He explained that crows were a very intelligent member of the bird family. Crows always have lookouts posted in treetops and other vantage points and stand watch while others feed on the ground, or in this case, on the highway. The problem was that while crows have no trouble shouting CAW, CAW none of them could say truck.

CO2 increase is not nemesis as it's portrayed
"Despite increasing amounts of CO2 gas in the atmosphere, mean global surface temperatures have not shown any increase over the past 18 years.

In addition:

• Raw U.S. mean surface temperatures and daily high surface temperature records (without any tampering) have shown a weak decline since the warm 1930s period.

• Winter snow cover has been gradually increasing across the northern hemisphere in recent years.

• Antarctic sea ice is now at record high levels. Net global sea ice has shown no long-period downward trend.

• U.S. and global droughts, floods and severe weather have shown no significant changes over the past half century when atmospheric CO2 amounts have risen by 35 percent.

• The United States is currently experiencing the longest continuous period (nine years) without a major hurricane strike. Tornado activity has been below average the past three years."

Canadian Geological History

The constancy of change and the new catastrophism: a personal reflection on crisis-driven science
"What is patently obvious from reviewing Canada’s ancient history is that scientists still do not have an adequate understanding of Earth’s complex systems on which to base sound economic and environmental policy. From the upper reaches of the atmosphere to the depths of the oceans onwards to the deep interior of the planet our knowledge of complex earth systems is still rather rudimentary. Huge areas of our planet are inaccessible and are little known scientifically. There is still also much to learn from reading the rock record of how our planet functioned in the past.

In so many areas, we simply don’t know enough of how our planet functions.

And yet……

Scarcely a day goes past without some group declaring the next global environmental crisis; we seemingly stagger from one widely proclaimed crisis to another each one (so we are told) with the potential to severely curtail or extinguish civilization as we know it. It’s an all too familiar story often told by scientists who cross over into advocacy and often with the scarcely-hidden sub-text that they are the only ones with the messianic foresight to see the problem and create a solution. Much of our science is what we would call ‘crisis-driven’ where funding, politics and the media are all intertwined and inseparable generating a corrupting and highly corrosive influence on the scientific method and its students. If it doesn’t bleed it doesn’t lead is the new yardstick with which to measure the overall significance of research.

Charles Darwin ushered in a new era of thinking where change was expected and necessary. Our species as are all others, is the product of ongoing environmental change and adaption to varying conditions; the constancy of change. In the last 15 years or so however, we have seemingly reverted to a pre-Darwinian mode of a fixed ‘immutable Earth’ where any change beyond some sort of ‘norm’ is seen in some quarters as unnatural, threatening and due to our activities, usually with the proviso of needing ‘to act now to save the planet.’ Honest scientific discourse and debate is often rendered impossible in the face of the ‘new catastrophism.’

Trained as geologists in the knowledge of Earth’s immensely long and complex history we appreciate that environmental change is normal. For example, rivers and coastlines are not static. Those coasts, in particular, that consist of sandy strand-plains and barrier-lagoon systems are continually evolving as sand is moved by the waves and tides. Cyclonic storms (hurricanes), a normal component of the weather in many parts of the world, are particularly likely to cause severe erosion. When recent events such as Hurricanes Katrina and Sandy cause catastrophic damage, and spring storms cause massive flooding in Calgary or down the Mississippi valley, and droughts and wildfires affect large areas of the American SW these events are blamed on a supposed increase in the severity of extreme weather events brought about by climate change. In fact, they just reflect the working of statistical probability and long term climate cyclicity. Such events have happened in the past as part of ongoing changes in climate but affected fewer people. That the costs of weather and climate-related damage today are far greater is not because of an increased frequency of severe weather but the result of humans insisting on congregating and living in places that, while attractive, such as floodplains, mountain sides and beautiful coastlines, are especially vulnerable to natural disasters. Promises of a more ‘stable future’ if we can only prevent climate change are hopelessly misguided and raise unnatural expectations by being willfully ignorant of the natural workings of the planet. Climate change is the major issue for which more geological input dealing with the history of past climates would contribute to a deeper understanding of the nature of change and what we might expect in the future. The past climate record suggests in fact that for much of the Earth’s surface future cooling is the norm. Without natural climate change Canada would be buried under ice 3 km thick; that is it normal state for most of the last 2.5 million years with 100,000 years-long ice ages alternating with brief, short-lived interglacials such as the present which is close to its end."

Dear Leftards

For your information, ISIS has issued a statement explaining why they are doing what they are doing and, I'm sorry to say, it has nothing to do with anything the West had done to them in the past. Read all about it here:

Muhammad and Islam's Sex Slaves
"Once again, Islamic State Muslims are pointing to Islam in order to justify what the civilized world counts as atrocities.

According to an October 13 report in the Telegraph,

Islamic State jihadists have given detailed theological reasons justifying why they have taken thousands of women from the Iraqi Yazidi minority and sold them into sex slavery.

A new article in the Islamic State English-language online magazine Dabiq not only admits the practice but justifies it according to the theological rulings of early Islam.

"After capture, the Yazidi women and children were then divided according to the Sharia amongst the fighters of the Islamic State who participated," the article says.

As for "theological reasons" for sex slavery "according to the Sharia," these are legion—from male Muslim clerics, to female Muslim activists. Generally they need do no more than cite the clear words of Koran 4:3, which permit Muslims to copulate with female captives of war, or ma malakat aymanukum, "what"—not whom—"your right hands possess."

The article continues:

But most of it [Islamic State "article" or fatwa] is devoted to theological justifications for Islamic State behaviour, citing early clerics and the practices of the Prophet Mohammed and his Companions during the early years of Islamic expansion."
But who am I kidding. You don't want to know this anyway. But do read the whole thing.

Sea Level Hysterics

Rising sea levels of 1.8 meters in worst-case scenario

Yeah. Six feet, or thereabouts. Oh the humanity.

Recent Sea Level Rise is Truly Unnatural: Study
"A new study has revealed more evidence that the sea level rise the world has already experienced in recent years is not characteristic of the natural fluctuations the planet has seen over the past millennia, indicating that it is at least in-part a consequence of unnatural human influence."
Nice leap of logic there. It's "never" been seen before, and is therefore unnatural, and hence, due to human activity. And how old is the planet?

Is sea level rising?
"Records and research show that sea level has been steadily rising at a rate of 0.04 to 0.1 inches per year since 1900.

This rate may be increasing. Since 1992, new methods of satellite altimetry (the measurement of elevation or altitude) indicate a rate of rise of 0.12 inches per year."
0.12 inches per year. How will be ever adapt??? /sarc

NY Times Just Blasted Out of Existence Biggest Myth About George W. Bush & Iraq War
"Although it has been claimed before that chemical weapons had been found in Post-Hussein Iraq, due to new documents uncovered by a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request, the New York Times is now reporting it in a piece, “The Secret Casualties of Iraq’s Abandoned Chemical Weapons.”

While various news sources had reported the finding before, all assertions that Hussein had chemical weapons in some capacity (weapons-grade or not – they had been hidden from U.N. inspectors) were largely scoffed at as nothing more than supercilious bunk. Well, behold…

The news report from the Times explains the now not-secret revelation that there had been WMDs in Iraq, after all:

From 2004 to 2011, American and American-trained Iraqi troops repeatedly encountered, and on at least six occasions were wounded by, chemical weapons remaining from years earlier in Saddam Hussein’s rule.

In all, American troops secretly reported finding roughly 5,000 chemical warheads, shells or aviation bombs, according to interviews with dozens of participants, Iraqi and American officials, and heavily redacted intelligence documents obtained under the Freedom of Information Act."
This exoneration hasn't taken as long as I thought it would. But I knew it would. The lamestream media has some 'splaining to do, but I'm not holding my breath.

Oooooh. We're Being Rather Tight Lipped, Aren't We?

UPDATED AND BUMPED: Satellite images show damage to Parchin buildings believed used for nuclear weapons
"Satellite images have confirmed that a leading Iranian nuclear facility was bombed.

Images taken by the French satellite Pleiades showed considerable damage at the Parchin military complex near Teheran. The satellite showed that an explosion confirmed by the Iranian regime took place in the facility closed to the International Atomic Energy Agency for nearly a decade."
So what is it? An explosion within or a bomb from above? Maybe the Joooos didn't do it. But maybe they did. All eyes have been diverted to ISIS in northern Iraq. Perfect time for Israel to launch a strike.
=============Original Post Starts Here============
Report: Two dead after explosion in Iranian nuclear facility

"Two workers were killed in an explosion that took place at a military explosives factory southeast of Tehran, near the suspected nuclear reactor in Parchin, IRNA, the official Iranian news agency, reported Monday.

The agency quoted Iran’s Defense Industries Organization, which said a fire occurred Sunday night, killing two people. The agency did not provide additional information."
[---]
"The Saham opposition website reported that a huge explosion occurred at the large facility in Parchin, located 30 km. southeast of Tehran.

According to the report, the powerful explosion blew out the windows of buildings located up to 15 km. away from the base, and eyewitnesses could observe the blast from a distance.

Parchin is a controversial military base where Israel and the International Atomic Energy Agency suspect the Islamic Republic is attempting to develop a nuclear explosive device. IAEA inspectors have not been permitted to enter the site since 2005."
[---]
"Channel 2 News reported that in the past it was claimed that Qazvin hosted an “unreported nuclear site” that contained stored uranium. In January of last year, Israeli intelligence officials confirmed that an explosion damaged Iran’s Fordow nuclear facility, which is being used to enrich uranium.

Three years ago, Iran said a massive explosion at a military base 45 km. west of Tehran killed 17 Revolutionary Guards members, including the head of the elite force’s missile program. It said the blast was caused by an accident while weapons were being moved.

On Oct. 5, Iran’s Defense Industries Organization said a fire erupted in a factory that produced explosives in Teheran and killed two employees. Later, the Iranian opposition said the explosion took place near Parchin, located 30 kilometers southeast of Teheran.

The satellite images, taken 24 hours after the blast, showed that Parchin was the target of the bombing. The images, analyzed by an Israeli specialist, Ronen Solomon, disclose the destruction of several buildings at Parchin, including that of a purported nuclear weapons testing site.

“The explosion wiped several testing units off the face of the earth while inflicting collateral damage on adjacent buildings, with traces of fire clearly visible in a section located in a sparsely afforested area,” Solomon said in the Israel Defense magazine on Oct. 8.

IAEA has raised the prospect that Parchin was used to test fuzes for nuclear warheads. Iran has denied the suspicions but refused access to the United Nations agency.

“Before and after images indicate that a complete section of structures was simply eliminated by an unexplained explosion,” Solomon said."
(Emphasis mine, throughout) The Joooos did it.

NOAA Report Destroys Global Warming Link To Extreme Weather
"According to NOAA’s new publication, Explaining Extremes of 2013 from a Climate Perspective, there is no discernible connection between global warming and 2013 extreme weather events such as the California drought, Colorado floods, the UK’s exceptionally cold spring, a South Dakota blizzard, Central Europe floods, a northwestern Europe cyclone, and exceptional snowfall in Europe’s Pyrenees Mountains."
Keep right on lying, that's what they'll do.
"So, scientists report that most of the warming in California is natural, and the evidence shows no link between global warming and the California drought. Nevertheless, agenda-driven activist groups and their media lapdogs repeatedly tell the lie that global warming is causing California’s drought. Ironically – or not – President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry frequently claim global warming is responsible for the California drought, all the while claiming people who disagree with them are members of the Flat Earth Society. Somebody tell that to the federal government’s own scientists at NOAA."

Trudeau Joke

...as seen on Facebook:

"Little Johnny meets Justin Trudeau ...

Justin Trudeau was visiting a primary school in Lanark and visited a grade four class. They were in the middle of a discussion related to words and their meanings.

The teacher asked Mr. Trudeau if he would like to lead the discussion on the word 'tragedy.' So our illustrious Party Leader asked the class for an example of a 'tragedy'.

One little boy stood up and offered: "If my best friend, who lives on a farm, is playing in the field and a tractor runs him over and kills him, that would be a tragedy."

"No," said Trudeau, "that would be an accident."

A little girl raised her hand: "If a school bus carrying 50 children drove off a cliff, killing everyone, that would be a tragedy."

"I'm afraid not," explained Trudeau. "That's what we would call great loss."

The room went silent. No other child volunteered. Trudeau searched the room. "Isn't there someone here who can give me an example of a tragedy?"

Finally at the back of the room, Little Johnny raised his hand. The teacher held her breath. In a quiet voice he said: "If the plane carrying you and Mrs. Trudeau was struck by a 'friendly fire' missile and blown to smithereens that would be a tragedy."

"Fantastic!" exclaimed Trudeau, "That's right. And can you tell me why that would be a tragedy?"

"Well," says Johnny, "It has to be a tragedy, because it sure as hell wouldn't be a great loss... and you can bet your sweet ass it wouldn't be an accident either!"

The teacher left the room."

Your community needs you or needs to replace you.

Attawapiskat resident reveals history of abuse
"While Attawapiskat has been thrust into the national spotlight because of a long-running housing problem, the attention is also exposing another major crisis in the impoverished community.

Jocelyn Iahtail, a former resident of Attawapiskat, is now coming forward with personal recollections of abuse.

Iahtail says the sexual abuse and incest is an epidemic that spans generations; a scourge that plagues the community in a way that is impossible to ignore any longer.

"The most frightening part is people know," Iahtail told CTV's Daniele Hamamdjian.

Iahtail says the abuse began when she was only four, and continued until she was 13. She says the abusers were people that she trusted, including relatives of some council members.

Iahtail says the abuse in communities like hers is cyclical and systemic.

Iahtail's mother, Mary Lou, says she was abused while attending residential schools and on the reserve, victimized by family and the clergy.

"My relatives, the priest, the nun's (sic) and the brothers," Mary Lou recalls.

Recalling her childhood, Iahtail also says the abuse affected every portion of her young life.

"I would become so overcome with nausea and vomiting. Just the simple act of brushing my teeth, because of the oral sex that I was forced to perform."

Iahtail and her mother decided to speak out this week because the pain continues to be pervasive in their community.

They say they also want to break the cycle of abuse that has scarred her and many others.

The scars on the community are obvious, Iahtail says: suicide, alcohol and drug abuse, gas sniffing and violence are mere symptoms. Indeed, while abuse may be less visible than squalid shacks and poor housing, it also insidious and destructive."

Kicking Ass

Licking Ass...

...the British way:

Being both a history and a book buff, I have in my possession a reprint of the diary kept by Samuel Hearne, the first "Whiteman" to travel overland, in what was to become Canada, and gaze upon the Arctic Ocean. He dedicates the book as follows:

"To

SAMUEL WEGG, Esq - Governor
Sir JAMES WINTER LAKE, Deputy Governor

and

THE REST OF THE COMMITTEE
of the Honourable
HUDSON'S BAY COMPANY

HONOURABLE SIRS,

As the following Journey was undertaken at your Request and Expense,
I feel it no less my Duty than my Inclination to address it to you; hoping that my humble Endeavours to relate,  in a plain and unadorned Style, the various Circumstances and Remarks which occurred during that Journey, will meet with your Approbation.

I am, with much Esteem and Gratitude,
HONOURABLE SIRS,

Your most obedient, and
most obliged humble Servant,
SAMUEL HEARNE."

NAZI Pelosi Going Down

Even Democrats are placing knives in her back:

Embattled House Democrats Turn Against Nancy Pelosi

"House Republicans have surprising new company in attacking Nancy Pelosi: her fellow House Democrats.

Three Democrats running in GOP-leaning House districts have used late-stage television ads in a bid to distance themselves from the liberal leader of Democrats' House caucus—the same caucus they're fighting to join in 2015."

Even Liberals Booed Pelosi Off Stage As She Defended Obama
"House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) was booed off stage last week—by liberals.

Pelosi defended President Obama’s position on the NSA’s surveillance programs, and suggested that leaker Edward Snowden broke the law by whistleblowing. The congresswoman’s defense of spying was not well received.

“People on the far right are saying ‘Oh, this is the fourth term of President Bush,’” Pelosi said. “Absolutely, positively not so.”

Pelosi then advocated for a greater cooperation between security and privacy agencies.

But the audience did not care for her rhetoric. Several audience members were removed from the room after objecting to Pelosi’s speech.

“It’s not balance. It’s not constitutional! No secret laws!” yelled Marc Perkel. He was immediately carried out by security personnel.

The audience then came to the defense of Perkel. “That’s what a police state looks like right there,” they yelled.

But the tone became even more heated as Pelosi began to defend the Obama administration’s handling of the Edward Snowden scandal."

Why Did This MTV Star Say Nancy Pelosi is ‘a Special Breed of Idiot’?
"On Monday, California Communist Democrat Nancy Pelosi made the preposterous and laughable (even for Pelosi) claim that Democrats never treated George W. Bush the same way that Republicans are treating Obama.
Of course, Pelosi is correct, Democrats didn’t treat Bush the “same way” Republicans are treating Obama, who should have been impeached for his egregious multiple constitutional violations years ago. Democrats treated Bush much worse than Republicans ever dreamed of treating Obama, as partially documented HERE."
Nancy Pelosi Reminds America that She is Super Rich
"Remember when the “Occupy” movement was going strong and ravaging our nation’s cities? They kept talking about how the 1% (or rich) were ruining everything and enslaving the people. These same Occupy protesters found vocal supporters in the Democrat Party, and because of that the Occupy indigents gave their votes to the Democrats in 2012. Sadly for the Occupy dummies, the Democrat Party is the Party of the Rich. (And we have proof.)"

The Liberal Party...

...Their own worst enemy:

Marc Garneau Sows Confusion Ahead Of Iraq Combat Mission Vote
"The man tasked with selling the Liberals' position on the upcoming combat mission in Iraq found himself on the defensive Tuesday. Foreign affairs critic Marc Garneau sowed confusion about the Grits' decision-making as he tried to distance himself from comments he made earlier.

Speaking to CBC's "Power & Politics" Monday, Garneau told host Evan Solomon that Liberal vote against the Tories’ six-month combat mission against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) would be whipped.

"This is a whipped vote, there's no question about it. This is really a very, very important vote for each of the parties," Garneau said.

Tuesday, however, Garneau told The Huffington Post Canada the vote would, in fact, not be whipped.

"No, there is no need to whip the vote, because we all of us discussed it last Wednesday and we are all in agreement with the position that we have taken," he responded.

Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau himself sidestepped the question, saying the party would vote against the motion “in a unanimous way.”

But four Liberals did not show up for the vote Tuesday evening. They included: P.E.I. MP Lawrence MacAulay, Ottawa MP Mauril Bélanger and Montreal MPs Stéphane Dion and Irwin Cotler.

MacAulay was out of town during the vote, but his office told The Huffington Post Canada he would have "absolutely" voted with the party, adding he is "completely supportive" of Trudeau's stance on the combat mission."
Psst! Libs. We will remember.

Flogging The Horse One More Time

Time to get Real About Climate Change
"We hear it over and over, “Climate change is real. Only industry-funded ‘deniers’ disagree.”

This is ridiculous.
No scientist denies that climate changes. Geology professor Tim Patterson of Carleton University explains, “Climate is and always has been variable. The only constant about climate is change; it changes continually.” Scientists like Patterson deny that they deny climate change—they are denial deniers.

If anyone could rationally be labeled climate change deniers, it is those who hold the absurd view that our climate was relatively tranquil until the arrival of humans. They seem to not know that half of North America was under a vast ice sheet only 22,000 years ago. And, as Patterson has written, “Ten thousand years ago… temperatures rose as much as 6 degrees Celsius in a decade — 100 times faster than the past century’s 0.6 degrees Celsius warming.”"
But this is new:
"Dr. Tim Ball, former climatology professor at the University of Winnipeg, has even received death threats for his outspoken candor."

Democrats at Risk of Global Warming Election Backlash
"Recent polling numbers may induce Republicans on the November ballot to turn certain Democrats’ obsession with global warming into a Republican weapon, slamming Democrats for ignoring much more important issues.

Several Democratic politicians and funding groups are attempting to make global warming a key issue in the November elections even though the public considers global warming a very low priority. To date, Republicans in such elections have assumed a low-key approach, trusting the global warming attacks will not find much political traction. Recent polling numbers, however, may induce Republicans to be bolder on the issue.

In mid-August, Gallup asked more than 1,000 American adults the following open-ended question: “What do you think is the most important problem facing the country today?” Gallup listed the top 12 responses, which accounted for 99 percent of the answers. Global warming did not make the list. If any of the 1,032 American adults answered global warming, the answer failed to reach even the 1 percent threshold.

In another poll released in late August, the Pew Research Center and USA Today presented more than 1,500 American adults with a list of nine potential threats to the United States and asked the respondents to indicate which ones they consider to be “major threats.” Global warming ranked dead last among Republicans and Independents, but first among Democrats.

When Democrats and Republicans have strong differences of opinion on a particular issue, polling among independents typically offers clues regarding who should and will emphasize the issue. Given that independents side with Republicans on the relative unimportance of global warming claims, it would seem most likely Republicans would push the issue and Democrats would not. Nevertheless, moneyed interests and environmental extremists have convinced some Democrats to emphasize their unpopular global warming views in the current election cycle."

More Stuff The Indian Industry Ain't Gonna Like

Don't Blame Columbus for All the Indians' Ills
"Most of what scholars know about the Iroquois comes from European accounts. Very little of this information is flattering. These negative views result because Europeans settling in North America first came to encounter the Huron, Naragansett, and Algonquin tribes, who were enemies to the Iroquois. These tribes had become oppressed by the Iroquois nations after they had formed their confederation; prior to the League these three tribes were actually the dominant tribes of Native Americans in the Northeast. Later, these tribes were also among the first to accept Catholicism, which added favor in the eyes of the French. When the Europeans accepted the friendship of these tribes, however, they accepted the enmity of the Iroquois as well.

It is also important to establish that the practices of the Iroquois were more than the exaggeration and hearsay of excitable Frenchmen. The Iroquois surely performed torture upon war captives; many European settlers viewed first-hand the mutilated body-parts of war captives. However, there has been some doubt in the current century that cannibalism was really practiced by the Iroquois. Anthropologist W. Arens proposed in 1979 that there were no first-hand accounts of flesh eating among the Native Americans, and thus no solid proof for cannibalism. This controversial view has been refuted since, for there is indeed ample evidence in The Jesuit Relations and Allied Documents alone to prove Arens’s thesis wrong."
Adoption or Entree
"Of all the North American Indian tribes, the seventeenth-century Iroquois are the most renowned for their cruelty towards other human beings. Scholars know that they ruthlessly tortured war prisoners and that they were cannibals; in the Algonquin tongue the word Mohawk actually means "flesh-eater." There is even a story that the Indians in neighboring Iroquois territory would flee their homes upon sight of just a small band of Mohawks. Ironically, the Iroquois were not alone in these practices. There is ample evidence that most, if not all, of the Indians of northeastern America engaged in cannibalism and torture—there is documentation of the Huron, Neutral, and Algonquin tribes each exhibiting the same behavior."

‘Before the white man came? War’
"Although we at End Race Based Law have no desire to re-open historical wounds, others — particularly the revisionist academics and Indian leaders of the ‘Aboriginal Industry’ — are busily rewriting history to suit their political agenda. Therefore, we will do our best to present the documented historical reality, lest it be buried beneath the massive propaganda outpouring of a billion-dollar, race-based Industry. We are told over and over again that before Europeans {‘White Man’} came to North America, all was peace and tranquility. It seems that this is just another fabricated historical myth.

“We’ve deluded ourselves into believing in the myth of the noble and peaceful primitive… Lawrence Keeley calculates that 87% of primitive societies were at war more than once per year, and some 65% of them were fighting continuously.

“Had the same casualty rate been suffered by the population of the twentieth century,” writes Wade, “its war deaths would have totaled two billion people.”"

Let's Hear It For Saskatchewan!!!!!

AAARRRGGGHHH!!! I spoke too soon.
===========Original Starts Here============
Whoopie!! Political correctness takes another hit:

Sask. judges don't follow Supreme Court's direction on aboriginals, says retired B.C. judge
"A retired judge from British Columbia aimed strong words at Saskatchewan judges for failing to follow the direction of the Supreme Court of Canada in dealing with aboriginal offenders.

In a presentation to a Saskatchewan Legal Aid conference last week, Judge Cunliff Barnett said judges in this province are often "reluctant" to acknowledge the decisions of the Supreme Court in the Gladue and Ipeelee cases, which directed judges to consider the historical and personal circumstances of aboriginal offenders during sentencing and bail hearings.

"I really think the judiciary in Saskatchewan has been really slow to educate itself," Barnett said in an interview. "I do think judges in Saskatchewan have been reluctant, and I think it's past time for the judges to do some learning."

He highlighted the recent case of Trevor Machiskinic - a young aboriginal man serving a jail sentence for beating his cousin with a baseball bat. Machiskinic's sentence is currently under appeal.

"One might say that Trevor is (unfortunately) a 'poster child' for Gladue principled sentencing," Barnett told the Legal Aid lawyers, according to speaking notes he supplied to The StarPhoenix."

Miracles From The One

"The president went to the state of Illinois to brag about the economy. Illinois has 300,000 fewer jobs than it had in 2008. For the last four years in the state of Illinois, the number of new food stamp recipients has increased twice as fast as the number of new job recipients. He was speaking in Illinois on a college campus. He did not mention that 40 percent of recent college graduates are either unemployed or underemployed -- that is, in jobs that don't require college degrees -- and one in three recent college graduates is living at home with their parents.

Now, the president, we just heard, disparage trickle-down economics while bragging about doubling the stock market value. He is practicing trickle-down economics by doubling the stock market. He, and, for six years now, and most recently under his choice to be head of the Fed, Janet Yellen, have had zero interest rates, the intended effect of which is to drive people out of bonds and into assets like farm land, but particularly into stocks. That is why this has been a boon to the 10 percent of Americans who own 80 percent of all the directly owned stocks. And this is why 95 percent of the wealth created in the last six years have gone to the dreaded top one percent."

Melting Antarctic Ice Is Causing an Actual Shift in Gravity

"Gravity—yes, gravity—is the latest victim of climate change in Antarctica. That's the stunning conclusion announced Friday by the European Space Agency.

"The loss of ice from West Antarctica between 2009 and 2012 caused a dip in the gravity field over the region," writes the ESA, whose GOCE satellite measured the change. Apparently, melting billions of tons of ice year after year has implications that would make even Isaac Newton blanch."

The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Week for Climate Change News

[---]

Climate change doesn’t follow the rules
"New research suggests the drier-gets-drier and
wet-becomes-wetter rule of thumb is broken.

The simplified formula, based on models and observations, is inaccurate most of the time, a team of climate researchers suggests in Nature Geoscience.

An evaluation of trends in specific regions’ humidity and dryness by researchers with the Zurich-based Institute for Atmospheric and Climate Science found no clear trends towards a drier or wetter climate across three-quarters of the land area studied. There were solid trends in the remaining quarter. However, only half of that surface area followed the DDWW principle.

Some regions which should have become wetter, according to the simple DDWW formula, have actually become drier in the past — this includes parts of the Amazon, Central America, tropical Africa and Asia. On the other hand, there are dry areas that have become wetter: parts of Patagonia, central Australia and the Midwestern United States."
Oops!

Phoney messenger for climate change

"Recently, Leonardo DiCaprio addressed the UN on climate change and was introduced to the spellbound delegates as an “ambassador of peace.”

He had a Castro-like beard with hair combed tightly back and knotted like a golf ball. He started apologetically saying, “I am only an actor playing fictitious roles” and soon followed with the all-too-familiar mantra of “droughts are intensifying, oceans are acidifying, none of this is rhetoric, none of this is hysteria, it is a fact,” etc.

It is also not fictitious that he just happens to own two apartments in New York, mansions in Palm Springs, Hollywood, and rented for the 2014 World Cup the Topaz, described as the fifth largest yacht in the world, from an Arab billionaire oil tycoon.

This year, he flew all over only about 30 times in private jets. Even the legendary Al Gore, the so-called inventor of the Internet and global warming, must be eye-rolling at Leo’s frugal eco-friendly lifestyle."
And I can hardly wait for this:

Some Useful FACTS About Global Warming and Climate Change

Here are the known facts. Use them to protect yourself against the Green assault the truth (sic):

# Both the Earth and the Sun pass through natural cycles. The Sun is currently in a cycle of lower radiation as signaled by fewer sunspots representing magnetic storms.

# There is currently no global warming. The Earth has been in a cooling cycle for 19 years. No child who has passed through K-12 classes in school has experienced a single day of “global warming.”

# Not one computer model that predicted increased warming has been accurate. (Emphasis mine.)

# Carbon dioxide, (CO2) blamed for global warming, is not a “pollutant” despite a Supreme Court decision stating this. Our exhaled breath contains about 4% of CO2.

# How can carbon dioxide be called a “pollutant” when it is directly responsible for the growth of all vegetation on the planet? Without CO2 there would not be a single blade of grass or a redwood tree. Or the animal life that depends on vegetation; wheat and rice, for example, as food.

# There is zero evidence that carbon dioxide generated by human activities is causing catastrophic climate change. Climate is measured in centuries or shorter periods of many decades in order to determine its cycles. The weather is what is occurring where you reside and it changes every day.

# At 78% nitrogen is the most abundant gas in the Earth’s atmosphere. It is an essential building block of amino acids present in all proteins. It is a very stable, unreactive gas. Oxygen is the second most abundant gas-of-life in the atmosphere at 21%. Water vapor is the third most abundant gas-of-life in the atmosphere; it varies up to 5%, It reduces incoming solar radiation by day and reduces surface cooling at night. Carbon dioxide is the least abundant gas in the atmosphere at 0.04%.

# The assertion that 97% of scientists believe that climate change is man-made and an urgent problem is a fiction. In May Joseph Bast, president of The Heartland Institute, cited the Zimmerman/Doran survey in which, out of 3,146 respondents, only 79 listed climate science as an area of expertise. Hardly 97%. “Surveys of meteorologists repeatedly find a majority oppose the alleged consensus,” noted Bast.

# In February, Patrick Moore, a Canadian ecologist, a co-founder of Greenpeace, a militant environmental group which he left in 1986, told members of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee “There is no scientific proof that human emissions of carbon dioxide are the dominant cause of the minor warming of the Earth’s atmosphere over the past 100 years.”

# Not only is the Earth not warming, but Heartland Institute analyst, Peter Ferrara, notes that “If you look at the record of global temperature data, you will find that the late 20th Century period of global warming actually lasted about 20 years, from the late 1970s to the late 1990s. Before that, the globe was dominated by about 30 years of global cooling, giving rise in the 1970s to media discussions of the return of the Little Ice Age (circa 1450 to 1850), or worse.”

# The cooling of the Earth has led to a dramatic increase in both Arctic and Antarctic ice, up 50% since 2012.

# One result of the false claims about carbon dioxide has been the Obama administration’s policies such as the refusal to permit the construction of the Keystone XL pipeline to import oil from Canada to U.S. refineries. The Environmental Protection Agency’s absurd restrictions on CO2 emissions have forced the closure of many coal-fired plants that are needed to provide low cost electrical energy. The administration has long wanted to impose a “carbon tax” on all energy use in America, a punishing and needless expense.

# The Obama administration’s climate policies are entirely political in nature. It has announced that the EPA’s process of setting new rules affecting power plants will be delayed until after the November 4 midterm elections. It is extending the public comment period until December 1. The growing discontent over similar climate and environmental policies was evident when leaders of the European Union announced it was moving away from green policies that had driven up the cost of electricity across the continent.

In a world threatened by the rise of radical Islamism, by the outbreak of diseases like Ebola, and other actual problems to be addressed, the notion that thousands would march in the belief that they and the entire rest of the Earth’s population have any effect on the climate is appalling.

What is perhaps most sad and most reprehensible are the host of world leaders who continue to maintain the lie of global warming or the misrepresentation of climate change to impose a tax on an essential element of the Earth's atmosphere.

And another thing. I have a new hero. His name is Joe Bastardi. (Note the "i" at the end of his name. That's an Italian signature. Take the "i" off and you can get what his name would mean in English.) He's an American meteorologist who isn't taking this global warming guff lying down. He's kinda cute, too. And funny. Trouble is, most of his Facebook posts are full of meteorologist speak, which is quite unintelligible to me. I did watch a vid of his presentation at the latest Heartland Foundation climate conference.

More Interesting Stuff...

Is Sahara Desert several million years older than previously thought?
"It is widely believed that Sahara desert first appeared during the last 2 to 3 million years, but recent discoveries such as ancient sand dunes and dust records in marine cores push the possible onset of Saharan aridity back in time by several million years. Until now, however, there have been no good explanations for such an early Sahara onset.

This study pinpoints the Tortonian stage (~7-11 million years ago) as a pivotal period for triggering North African aridity and creating the Sahara desert. Using snapshot simulations with the Norwegian Earth System Model (NorESM) model suite, the international team explored the climate evolution of North Africa through major tectonic shifts over the last 30 million years. They found that the region undergoes aridification with the shrinkage of the Tethys -- a giant ocean that was the origin of the modern Mediterranean, Black and Caspian Seas -- during the Tortonian.

The simulations are the first to show that the Tethys shrinkage has two main consequences for North African climate. First, it weakens the African summer monsoon circulations and dries out North Africa. Second, it enhances the sensitivity of the African summer monsoon and its associated rainfall to orbital forcing. The Tortonian stage thus marks the time when North Africa shifted from a permanently lush, vegetated landscape to a landscape experiencing arid/humid cycles on orbital time scales.

Interestingly, these major changes in North African climate and environment are coincident with an important time period for the emergence of early hominids."
And, you see. Science is never settled.
